Want to get an early start on the season of seeing great automobiles on display? There’s a new venue in the New York City metro area where you can feed your classic car jones early next month. The inaugural Ramapo Concours d’Elegance is scheduled for June 6 in Mahwah, New Jersey, and will benefit two institutions in Bergen County: Ramapo College of New Jersey, and the Hackensack University Medical Center.

The idea of hosting a new concours grew from the popularity of the group’s Cars and Coffee events, which have drawn a variety of classic and exotic cars over the past several years. Classes being judged at the 2015 concours will include Lincoln and Continental; pre-1971 Mercedes-Benz SLs; pre-1968 Jaguars; air-cooled Porsches; microcars; the early Ford Thunderbird; cars powered by Cobra; air-cooled Volkswagen; pre-1964 British cars; and Italian cars.

The concours will take place on the Ramapo College campus, located off Route 17 on the New York-New Jersey border. The day after the concours, entrants can take their cars on a guided tour around the area, ending with lunch at the scenic Mohonk Mountain House in New Paltz, New York.
