The Internet has made everything too easy. Every possible subject, product, and company website is right at your fingertips. Subsequently, those days of sending in a couple of bucks for a company’s catalog of motorcycle goodies have dried up. Thankfully, a few companies still believe in the old printed catalog. Here are five of my favorites, which just happen to be ADV-related, as that’s my favorite niche these days.
ADV Bible 1. The current granddaddy of them all has to be the Touratech catalog; this bible for all things ADV must have taken out a forest on its own. I kid you not; the Touratech catalog is 1924 pages and feels like it weighs five pounds. Inside the 2015/2016 edition, you’ll find everything from motorcycle protection pieces and luggage to all kinds of accessories and gear/apparel for any adventure imaginable. It’s a truly impressive collection.

Minnesota Medley 2. Reading the Aerostich catalog is a right of passage for any serious motorcycle traveler. For more than 30 years, Aerostich has been compiling, designing, and crafting some of the best products for motorcycling. From its Roadcrafter and Darien suits, jackets, and pants, to every imaginable item you may need for a camping adventure by motorcycle, Aerostich has it all. Simply put, founder Andy Goldfine and team have created one of the best moto-related catalogs you’ll find.

Italian Style 3. If you are looking for one place to find a wide variety of high-performance apparel, Motonation’s catalog is a great place to start. Long-time importer of Sidi boots, the company also brings in AGV Sport apparel, Vemar helmets, and Forcefield Body Armor. Not only are Sidi boots some of our favorites, but Motonation’s full line up can outfit you from head to toe. Especially helpful is a spare parts section in the back where you can find every screw, buckle, faceshield, or part for any product it sells.

Billet-Love 4. ADV guys and gals are a serious bunch, and those who really like to get out in the wild and explore have definitely heard of AltRider and its ever-expanding line of products. Although AltRider’s products cater specifically to the adventure set, they are some of the best designed, functional, and tough products on the market. If you are serious about not wanting to getting stranded because an aftermarket part failed, AltRider is a great place to start your shopping, or drooling.

Go Klim a Mountain 5. The motorcycle world definitely has its fair share of high-end products, but few of them can be justified in the same way as Klim’s top-notch motorcycle apparel. Yes, as journalists, we’re able to wear the Idaho-based company’s gear without having our Gold Cards catch fire. But that said, I can assure you that I would gladly pony up the cash for this well made adventure gear, which is incredibly durable and functional. If you want to stay comfortable in the harshest of environments in the broadest range of temperatures, Klim has you covered.
