After its global debut at the 2015 New York Auto Show, the Cadillac CT6 will arrive wearing a hybrid badge at the 2015 Shanghai Motor Show in late April.
According to Autoblog , General Motors product boss Mark Reuss said as much when interviewed by the publication about work on the hybrid model, while a Cadillac representative could only say that variants would be forthcoming.
Speaking of variants, Reuss adds that the flagship sedan could wear a V-Series badge, though it may be a while before such a thing arrives:
The [CT6] architecture is certainly capable of doing it. The question is who’s going to buy the CT6? What kind of person? And do we need a V-Series off of that is the question we haven’t answered yet. It’s certainly capable of doing it … we’ve certainly thought about it.
As for the hybrid, little was mentioned about the powertrain beyond the possibility that it could be a PHEV in the vein of the Chevrolet Volt and 2016 Malibu Hybrid.
