Bugatti Veyron successor rumoured to pack more than 1100kW and 1500Nm, with 500km/h speedo

The sequel to the greatest hypercar of our time, the Bugatti Veyron, is set to blow minds based on pure statistics alone.

In a report from Car Magazine in the UK, an insider has all but confirmed that the Bugatti Chiron (named after 1930s Bugatti race driver Louis Chiron) will stick with the W-shape 16-cylinder quad-turbo engine, which will output more than a staggering 1100kW of power and 1500Nm of torque, and capable of propelling the French-made hypercar from 0-100km/h in 2-seconds flat.

That’s one-cat-and-dog, two-cat-and-dog fast.

The Chiron is said to feature over 90 per cent new components, and include such technology as cylinder deactivation (there are an awful lot of them), electronically actuated turbochargers (for non-existent turbo-lag) and a combined 16.8L/100km consumption cycle.

Possibly one of the coolest suspected inclusions is a speedometer that reads to 500km/h — surely that’s worth the price of admission alone.

With the production of all 450 Bugatti Veyrons now complete, the king is dead. The Chiron is expected to be unveiled at the 2016 Geneva motor show — long live the king.

While we wait, check out our exclusive road test of the Bugatti Veyron. CarAdvice is still the only media outlet in Australia to have an official drive of the mind blowing supercar.
