Once a fruit farm, the Country Counter served the grocery needs for the community of Richfield, Ohio, for quite a few years before becoming a Giant Eagle. Interestingly, it didn’t just become a big-box supermarket once the chain grocery moved in. Rather, as we can see from comparing the above circa 1970 photo from the Richfield Historical Society and the modern-day Street View of the Giant Eagle on Broadview Road, some of the old building remains.
