Blake Griffin Stars in New Kia Optima Ad Campaign
NBA All-Star Blake Griffin is more than a basketball player, apparently he also is a wild west lawman, a gladiator, and a fighter pilot. Well, at least for Kia he is. Kia’s best-selling vehicle, the Optima is ready for some stage presence and has enlisted a co-star for when it it makes it big on T.V. screens all across America. Blake Griffin stars in the new Kia Optima ad campaign that is set to air during the 2014-2015 NBA Season.
Blake Griffin has a great sense of humor and maybe even a thing for dressing up, because he will be starring in a variety of roles through the new Optima campaign. The commercials take place on a commercial set, where Griffin is the star, but decides to do things his own way.
The first commercial, “Showdown”, is western themed, where Griffin plays the wild west lawman and can be seen down below.
A true fan of the mid-size Optima, Griffin is proud to be a global brand ambassador and according to Tim Chaney, Kia’s vice president of marketing communications, “The Optima has been Kia’s most popular vehicle since the time when our partnership with Blake began, and he has helped us foster connections with basketball fans across the country, increase awareness and enhance our brand image.”
The design of the 2015 Kia Optima is more sleek and fluid than ever, with daring curves, a high-intensity discharge headlights to light up the night and show off a luxury appearance in daylight. Fast, powerful, and fuel efficient, the Optima is available in five trim levels.
The basic engine is a 2.4-liter capable of 192 horsepower and fuel economy rating of 23 city/ 34 highway mpg. Bump up a couple of models and drivers will be in command of 274 horse turbocharged 2.0-liter that still earns a fuel economy rating of 20 city/ 31 highway mpg.
