1) The oil level. We cannot stress the importance of your oil enough. If the oils isn’t filled properly, the inner-workings of your car aren’t properly lubricated. This can cause some other problems with the vehicle, potentially forcing you to have to buy a new car.
2) The tire pressure. Not only is tire pressure crucial for maintaining the proper amount of traction and handling while you’re on the road, but having the correct pressure inside the tires also prevents tires from either deflating or having too much air- both of which can be dangerous circumstances.
3) The hoses. This is fairly simple. You’re car needs them, and if you notice any bulging or wear and tear that might be visible, it’s time to swap them out for new ones!
4) The tires. It’s a common rule that’s noted by almost everyone that if it’s been six years or more since you’ve gotten a new set of tires, it’s most definitely time. Of course, outside forces often don’t allow that timeline to happen, which means that you’ll have to regularly check for tread depth, bulging, or any signs of weakness on your own.
5) The air filter. Finally, the one that most of us would prefer to ignore until the end of time. Your air filter is important. It filters out anything in the air that could destroy your engine. Your air filter also plays a major role in fuel burning, since that chemical reaction needs oxygen to take. So, do yourself and you engine a favor, and routinely check your air filter!
