Primland Driving Experience at VIR with Tom Kristensen and Harold Primat

Virginia International Raceway hosted the Primland Driving Experience event on Tuesday this week.

Tom Kristensen and Harold Primat were both on hand as instructors and to drive an Audi R8 LMS ultra. Fifteen lucky driving participants took part in the event.

This Audi Sport customer racing Audi R8 LMS ultra was also seen at the Circuit of The Americas this past weekend, where Dindo Capello was behind the wheel in order to thrill lucky Audi guests with passenger rides around the beautiful circuit.

Allan McNish and Tom Kristensen will be at Autosport International

2013 Le Mans 24 Hours winners and FIA WEC world champions Allan McNish and Tom Kristensen will be at Autosport International this upcoming weekend.

The enthusiastic British race fans will have the privilege to meet two true legends at Audi. Allan McNish who recently announced his retirement from top level prototype racing is a fan favourite in the UK. Tom Kristensen known as Mr Le Mans (9 overall wins) is clearly the most popular driver in sportscar racing.

The world famous Birmingham based auto show will also feature the winning Audi R18 e-tron quattro.

Tom Kristensen debuts R8 LMS ultra in Denmark for worthy cause

Tom Kristensen was at the 2013 Copenhagen Historic Grand Prix this weekend. He competed in the historic event and also took part in a worthy cause.

TK was seen racing a Lotus Cortina in the actual event in Copenhagen, but he was also there to take part in the “Race for Riget”, an annual fund raising event at the Copenhagen Historic Grand Prix. The initiative on this occasion was to raise money for "Rigshospitalets", specifically the National Hospital’s Children’s Department. Kristensen was involved as he was driving an Audi R8 LMS ultra (2012 specification) for taxi-rides. Fans at the event had the opportunity to buy tickets to experience a lap inside the R8 with TK. It is thanks to Audi Denmark for organising the R8 LMS ultra’s appearance with TK.

This event also marked the first time that an Audi R8 LMS ultra had been run in Denmark. Thus it was very fitting that Mr Le Mans, and Danish racing legend, Tom Kristensen, be the driver of the Audi.

It is always great to see Audi cars and drivers taking part in worthy initiatives like these.
