André Lotterer to replace Kamui Kobayashi at the Belgian Grand Prix

André Lotterer will drive for Caterham F1 Team at the Belgian Grand Prix. The team will benefit from having another experienced driver at the wheel of the car throughout the weekend and the German's feedback will contribute to improve the performance of the car. The weather also plays a big role at Spa-Francorchamps and Lotterer is one of the most experienced drivers racing under mixed conditions.

Lotterer will replace Kamui Kobayashi for this round of the championship. The Japanese driver still remains part of the team.

Born in Duisburg in Germany, Lotterer moved to Belgium when he was only two years of age and grew up close to Nivelles, a city that's only 150km from Spa-Francorchamps. Three-time Le Mans 24 Hours winner, Lotterer started racing in the early 90s, succeeding in both German and British Formula 3 championships before being named Jaguar Racing's Formula One test driver in 2002. A year later he moved to Japan, doing very well in both Formula Nippon and the Japanese Super GT Championship, which he won in 2006 and 2009. He made his debut in endurance racing in 2009, taking part in the 24 Hours of Le Mans and the 24 Hours of Nurburgring. His impressive performance that year earned him a drive with the works Audi Sport team in the 2010 24 Hours of Le Mans, remaining with the team and winning the prestigious race three times (2011, 2012 and 2014). In 2011 he won the Formula Nippon championship. Since 2012, the German competes in the FIA World Endurance Championship.

GT Tour: André Lotterer and Benoit Tréluyer join Belgian Audi Clubt Team WRT at Spa-Francorchamps

André Lotterer and Benoit Tréluyer will join the Belgian Audi Club Team WRT at Spa-Francorchamps in the Belgian round of the French GT Tour.

The Audi Sport customer racing team will enter the GT Tour event with a pair of Audi R8 LMS ultra cars. The French series is using a Pro-Am formula, the two times Le Mans winners and 2012 FIA WEC champions not allowed to share the same car.

André Lotterer will drive along with Enzo Ide a regular with Belgian Audi Club Team WRT this year in the Blancpain Sprint Series.  Benoit Tréluyer will be joined by Yves Weerts.

At Spa-Francorchamps, the WRT team will target strong results as well preparing for the upcoming Spa 24 Hours. The Belgian squad is familiar with the French GT Tour. In 2011 they competed under their own banner, whilst in 2011 and 2012 they represented the official Audi France effort under Team Audi France name.

WRT will join at Spa the regular French Audi teams in GT Tour, Sébastien Loeb Racing, Sainteloc Racing and Team Speed Car.

Historic Racing: André Lotterer races Audi Coupe at Zolder

Two-time Le Mans winner,  André Lotterer, was again seen in the Belgian Historic Cup this weekend. Just one weekend after Le Mans he swapped his Audi R18 e-tron quattro for a classic Audi Coupe.

The "Zolder Grand Prix 50 Years" event was held this weekend, with a number of categories taking part. The Belgian Historic Cup was one of the categories, featuring a very special Audi entry. The orange/red/yellow Nothelle / Kamei Audi Coupe was entered in the event, a car which has become famous in recent times as Andre Lotterer's father was involved in the original building of the car many years ago, and Andre himself has driven this car at some of the Belgian Historic events. 

André Lotterer was on hand again this weekend to pilot the Audi. The car had originally been entered with Johan Aerts as the driver of the #81 Audi Coupe. Andre had a lot of fun and also took a class victory.

It is great to see these classic Audi race cars still competing in historic events, and even better when current Audi factory drivers, like Lotterer, get involved adding even more excitement.

Le Mans: André Lotterer featured in Mobil 1 The Grid

André Lotterer joined Audi as a factory driver in 2010. He finished second overall at Le Mans that year with the R15 plus TDI. A year later the German had a phenomenal race at La Sarthe. Together with teammates Marcel Fässler and Benoit Treluyer they managed to win the race overall with a single surviving Audi R18 TDI, against a full field of factory Peugeot 908s. Last year Lotterer and his teammates made it a double, a back to back victory at Le Mans, again with Marcel Fässler and Benoit Treluyer with the Audi R18 e-tron quattro. By the end of 2012 they also won the first ever FIA World Endurance Championship title.

This year André will target the hat-trick by winning Le Mans three times in a row with the same teammates. It has only happened once before, with Audi drivers Emanuele Pirro, Frank Biela and Tom Kristensen who won the race between in 2000, 2001 and 2002 with the Audi R8.
