The Mercedes-Benz G-Class is a unique model because its design combines classic, luxury, and off-road elements. These factors allowed it to survive the test of time. From 1979 to the present, the G-Class continues to evolve, and today, its maker just announced new customization colors and equipment for the iconic sport utility vehicle.
Through the Mercedes G manufaktur personalization program, customers can choose the color of their G-Class, which includes Classic Grey, Deep Green, and China Blue. The colors are a tribute to the SUV’s classic colors.
The company also offers a new drive program for the G-Class, the “Desert” off-road mode. Using the auto’s Dynamic Select, it provides maximum traction on sandy terrain by combining late upshifting, direct throttle response, and adjusted ESP control.
In addition, the new standard equipment of the G-Class includes a widescreen cockpit, frameless rear-view mirror, and reversing camera via the Parking Garage package, among others. These can be further upgraded using the Night Package to add dark-tinted glass, door mirror housings, and Obsidian Black radiator grille as well as darkened reversing lights, headlamps, and turn signal lights.
Meanwhile, fitting the Stainless Steel package equips the SUV with a new stainless steel spare wheel cover, running boards, door sills, and loading sill. These are topped off with 20-inch 5-twin-spoke light-alloy wheels from the AMG Line in high-gloss black or Himalaya grey.
Moreover, the Urban Guard Vehicle Protection and Urban Guard Vehicle Protection Plus enhance the anti-theft alarm and anti-break-in system of the unit. It features anti-theft alarm, visual and audio warning when the auto is towed, alarm siren, interior protection that detects movement inside, collision detection, and exclusive in the Urban Guard Plus is the location pinpointing of the stolen vehicle.
Lastly, Mercedes now includes the G 400 d, which used to be an exclusive special edition model, into the regular lineup of the G-Class. The trim possesses a 3.0-liter inline-six diesel engine with 326 hp and 516 lb-ft of torque. The Mercedes-AMG G 63 remains as the range-topping trim with a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine capable of up to 576 hp.
The new customization program for the Mercedes-Benz G-Class is only available in Europe as of now. The prices range from 99,446.80 euros to 154,309 euros.
