The Mercedes-Benz GLB may be in the compact sport utility vehicle classification of its maker but it is the biggest so far to use the MFA platform. One of its features that stands out is its optional third-row seats. Seeing more room for improvement, Brabus just released a new tuning package for the crossover to enhance its looks and give it a power boost.
Engine
The famous Mercedes tuner only has performance upgrades for the GLB 250 trim right now. With some tinkering in its ECU using the Brabus PowerXtra kit, the company can squeeze out 46 more horsepower and 59 lb-ft more torque from the 2.0-liter inline-four engine of the auto. So from the stock 221 hp and 258 lb-ft torque of the crossover, the numbers are boosted to 267 hp and 317 lb-ft torque. The figures take the vehicle from 0 to 62 mph in 6.6 seconds while its top speed is capped at 149 mph. Brabus said that more power upgrades for the GLB are in the works.
Exterior
Complementing the power-ups are the sporty accessories for the GLB. These include the new front grille, front spoiler, dual-LED roof bar, rear spoiler, and custom Brabus logo. Equipping the vehicle with the optional AMG Line Package opens it up to Brabus’ 3.5-inch quadruple black chrome exhaust tips. It also adds 18- to 20-inch wheels wrapped in Continental, Pirelli or Yokohama tires. Furthermore, the kit lets buyers lower the ride height of the crossover by 1.2 inches for better stability on the road while those who sometimes like to take their auto off-road can lift its ground clearance by 1.4 inches.
Interior
Opening the doors of the Mercedes-Benz GLB reveals aluminum Brabus scuff plates in anodized aluminum as well as exclusive floor mats and leather covers that are available in different colors.
