After revealing the CGI rendering of Mercedes-AMG G63 Yachting Limited Edition, Carlex Design finally delivered the first sample of the finished product to an anonymous customer in Dubai. As its name implies, the package is inspired by luxury yachts. It targets customers who are considered as “enthusiasts of luxury and marine style.”
The Carlex kit only offers styling modifications to the AMG G63 sport utility vehicle. There are no performance upgrades available to it as of yet from the tuner, but it should be noted that the unit already possessed a 4.0-liter biturbo V8 engine capable of producing 577 hp and 627 lb-ft of torque, which is good for 0-100 km/h run in only 4.7 seconds and with an electronically-capped max speed of 240 km/h when combined with the optional AMG Driver’s Package factory add-on.
Exterior
Starting with the exterior, the auto comes in two-tone finish featuring satin black in the upper portion of its bodywork and either polar white or brushed silver on its lower half. These are complemented by bespoke 22-inch brushed metal alloy wheels, spare tire cover with a nautical compass design, and Carlex Design logo replacing the three-pointed star emblem.
Interior
The real treat comes from the cabin of the G-Class though. Customers have two choices for the interior design of the SUV.
The first selection features off-white leather with Alcantara material. The second is highlighted by its cognac leather upholstery with light accents.
Standard in all the available interior designs for the AMG G63 Yachting Limited Edition is the glossy flower of the winds patterns adorning the leather covers of the vehicle. A contrasting fine wood trim wrapping the floor, steering wheel, dashboard, and side panels further adds a more opulent appeal to it.
