Lexus sold 21,839 vehicles in China last month, surpassing the US market in monthly sales for the first time ever. The difference between markets was just 479 vehicles.
This dramatic bump in sales can be attributed to the success of the ES sedan, which accounted for 10,629 units and nearly 50% of total sales for the month. By comparison, 3,499 ES sedans were sold in the USA in April.
Lexus China has now sold 60,465 vehicles in the first quarter of 2019, with hopes of 200,000 sales by December.
