From the best of the best. There seems to be nothing that separates these three gorgeous and powerful SUVs. Let’s take a look at the numbers and features before going out to your favorite dealerships and taking them for a ride.
The BMW X3 30i produces 252 horsepower and 350 Nm of torque with a top speed of 240 km/h and a start time of 6.3 seconds to reach 100 km/h from a full stop. The Audi Q5 makes 252 horsepower as well but has 370 Nm of torque. It has a top speed of 237 km/h that can also reach 100 km/h in 6.3 seconds. The Mercedes GLC 300 has a lower production of 245 horses with 370 Nm of torque. A slightly lower 236 km/h top speed puts it below the BMW and the Audi. The 6.5-second start to reach 100 km/h is also subpar to the first two cars.
The Audi Q5 wins in power consumption with only 6.8 l/100km combined, 8.3 l/100km urban, and 5.9 l/100km highway. The BMW X3 comes next with 7.2 l/100km combined, 8.4 l/100km urban, and 6.4 l/100km highway. The Mercedes GLC 300 with lower power production seems to be chugging in more fuel, too, at 7.7 l/100km combined, 9.3 l/100km urban, and 6.7 l/100km highway.
However, these figures are a result of Mercedes’ more powerful 9 G-Tronic automatic transmission compared to BMW’s 8 Steptronic transmission and the Audi’s 7 S Tronic automatic transmission. Of course, that also means a higher CO2 emission for the Mercedes GLC 300 which was rated at 174 g/km while the BMW produces 164 g/km and the Audi only makes 154 g/km.
