In Short: SmartPlanner is a brand new app in the Google Play Store which basically lets you plan your daily activities. This app can serve you as a calendar of sorts, but some would argue that it’s even easier to use, as you can quickly set up your plans and select any color you want to mark them. Once you fire up the app, you will be presented with a timeline, on the left side of the display (vertically) you’ll see time in a day, while on the top (horizontally), you’ll see dates, starting with the current one. All you have to do in order to set up a schedule is hit the ‘+’ button in the lower-right corner, and long press on the approximate time your plan would start, at that point, you can simply drag your finger to select the exact time, let go once you’re done, then drag again to set the end of your plan. Confirm it, enter a description, and select color (if you want), and that’s it.
The point is, you do not have to manually type in dates or anything of the sort, which makes creating events a less of a pain. On top of that, different colors will mark your whole plan, from start to finish, so you’ll easily see when exactly are you preoccupied, and with what, as a description of a plan can also be entered into the app. The design of the app is quite minimalistic, it’s clean and eye-pleasing. You can change the theme of this app with ease, it’s green by default, but you can alter that in settings. You can use SmartPlanner as a way to remind you to do something, as your travel planner, goal planner, class timetable, and so much more. There is a ‘Pro’ version of this app also available, you can purchase it for around $6, and it will remove all ads from the app, add more themes, and so on.
Background: SmartPlanner has not been available in the Play Store for long, only a couple of people installed it thus far, and it has only one review, that review is a positive one though, a 5-star one. The app weighs only 2MB, so it’s quite light, while you’ll need Android 5.0+ in order to use the application. The app is currently in version 1.0.5, and it has been developed by a company which shares the name of this app, the company’s name is Smart Planner Studio.
Impact: There are quite a few calendar and planner apps available in the Play Store, but in our short testing, we’ve been able to find out that setting plans with SmartPlanner is really intuitive, and easy to do, which makes it rather useful. This app can be quite useful if you have plenty of things to do during the day, and need a quick way to insert or edit those plans. Glancing at your plans will give you a good idea as to what your day will look like, which can also be useful if you’re in a hurry. If you’re looking for an alternative to a calendar or whatever you’re using at the moment, SmartPlanner may be worth a look.
