Earlier this month, the Palm brand came back to life with a companion device for Verizon. We knew the handset was launching in November, but now we have a specific date to circle on the calendar.
Verizon has confirmed that the Palm companion device will be launching on Friday, November 2. When it arrives, you’ll need to fork over an initial $350 for the device itself and then an additional $10 per month for Verizon’s NumberShare feature. That will make it possible for the Palm device to share your primary handset’s phone number.
A quick refresher: Palm is meant to be a “weekend phone” so that you can leave your bigger smartphone behind and bring the smaller gadget with you. It has a feature called Life Mode which will prevent any notifications from coming in while the screen is off. Turning the screen back on will put the phone back into its regular mode of operation.
The Palm device features a 3.3-inch HD display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 processor, 3GB of RAM, and 32GB of built-in storage. There is a 12MP camera on the back and an 8MP front-facing camera. The battery measures in at 800mAh, there’s 4G LTE and Bluetooth 4.2 included, and the phone is running Android 8.1 out of the box.
So, November 2. Who plans on picking up the new Palm device?
