OnePlus is expected to announce its second flagship smartphone for 2018, the OnePlus 6T, by the end of this month and the handset has been subjected to a series of leaks revealing most of its details in recent weeks. A new report surfaced today claiming to have the pricing info of the upcoming high-end smartphone, along with its expected RAM and storage variants. As per the report, the OnePlus product will ship in three memory configurations – 6GB of RAM with 128GB of flash memory, 8GB of RAM with 256GB of storage space, and 8GB of RAM with 256GB of memory. Notably, the base variant will reportedly have its 64GB storage module replaced with a higher capacity 128GB one, making it the go-to variant for those looking for more built-in memory without having to go for the higher-priced variants, especially since OnePlus devices don’t feature microSD card slots.
Talking about the pricing, the OnePlus 6T is said to be the company’s priciest smartphone till date. The Chinese OEM usually ups its device prices by a few dollars with its every subsequent launch, and the upcoming 6T will not be an exception. The leak suggests that the base model of the high-end phone will cost Rs. 37,999, or $516 approximately. Price will increase to Rs. 40,999 (~$556) for the next tier offering 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, while the top-end model with 256GB of storage will cost Rs. 44,999 (~$611). In comparison, the current OnePlus flagship was announced in India last May at a starting price of Rs. 34,999 (~$475) with the mid-tier and top-end variants costing Rs. 39,999 (~$543) and Rs. 43,999 (~$597), respectively.
The color options for the OnePlus 6T, on the other hand, are expected to stay unchanged, as per the report. The handset’s glass back will ship with either a glossy or a matte black finish, depending on the storage variant. Mirror Black will be the only option for the base variant while the 256GB variant will be offered only in Midnight Black. The mid-tier model will be available in both the finishes, the report claims. Like it’s been the case with previous OnePlus flagships, the company may release the OnePlus 6T in more color options at a later stage. The upcoming handset will be an evolutionary upgrade over the OnePlus 6 and has been confirmed to include an under-display fingerprint scanner besides ditching the 3.5mm audio jack. The OnePlus 6T is scheduled to go official at an event in New York on October 30 with shipments starting from November 6.
