In short: After opening pre-orders for the LG V40 ThinQ last Friday, the device is now available at all of the carriers, with the unlocked model available through B&H Photo. This means that you can order your V40 ThinQ and have it delivered within a day or two, instead of waiting a week for the device. However, you do miss out on the pre-order bonus that LG was doing, which included the DJI osmo Mobile 2. But you do still get the SanDisk 256GB Micro SD Card, which is still a nice bonus to get with the LG V40 ThinQ.
AT&T
Over at AT&T, you can pick up the LG V40 ThinQ for $949.99 outright, or pick it up on AT&T NEXT for $31.67 per month for 30 months. AT&T is offering a few promotions for the LG V40 ThinQ still, which includes a free case with your purchase. But you can also get up to $350 off of the LG V40 ThinQ when you trade-in an eligible smartphone. Of course, the newer the phone, the more money you are going to get as credit towards the V40 ThinQ. Finally, AT&T is selling the LG V40 ThinQ in Aurora Black and Moroccan Blue.

If you were wanting the unlocked LG V40 ThinQ, that you can take to any carrier or MVNO, then B&H Photo has one for you. It is priced at $949, and unfortunately, B&H Photo does not offer any monthly installment plans for it. The actual model is the AT&T model (which is why it’s the same price as at AT&T). B&H Photo is not doing any special promotions with the unlocked V40 ThinQ here, and it is only being sold in Aurora Black.

Sprint’s LG V40 ThinQ is technically still up for pre-order and will be openly available beginning tomorrow, October 19. A bit weird that it is a day behind everyone else, but there it is. Sprint is charging $960 for the LG V40 ThinQ, which is on the higher-end here, but it is also offering a really sick deal on this phone. If you purchase it through Sprint’s Flex Lease plan, you can get it for half price. That’s just $480 or $20 per month. That’s a pretty insane price for this smartphone, and an absolute steal. Sprint is only selling the LG V40 ThinQ in Aurora Black, no Moroccan Blue here.

Over at T-Mobile, you can also pick up the LG V40 ThinQ, and it is at its lowest price over on the magenta carrier, just $920. This is not one of the phones that has the 36-month installment plan yet, so you’re going to be paying $200 down plus taxes on the entire amount of the phone, and paying $30 per month for 24 months. Of course, you can also opt to pick it up at the full retail price if you prefer. T-Mobile is also only selling the V40 ThinQ in one color: Aurora Black. There are no active trade-in offers right now, but beginning tomorrow, there are some sweet trade-in offers available, that can get you a LG or Samsung smartphone for as low as $10 per month, and the LG V40 ThinQ is included in that deal.

Verizon is offering the LG V40 ThinQ at its highest price, of $980. It will cost you $40.83 per month for 24 months on its device payment plan. Verizon has the LG V40 ThinQ in both the Aurora Blue and Moroccan Blue colors. Now, Verizon is also offering a couple of different promotions for the LG V40 ThinQ. If you purchase between now and November 2, you will get the SanDisk 256GB Micro SD card, as well as a second year on your warranty. Those switching over to Verizon can get up to $300 off when you trade-in your device. And finally, new and existing users can save $200 when you purchase the V40 ThinQ on a device payment plan. Instead of paying the normal $40.83, you will be paying $32.49 for 24 months. Which is a really good deal on this phone, not quite as good as Sprint’s but close.
Buy the Verizon LG V40 ThinQ
Background: The LG V40 ThinQ was announced earlier this month as the company’s latest smartphone targeting content creators. It was also the first smartphone to feature five cameras, which of course LG is touting pretty heavily. There are three cameras on the back – wide-angle, regular and a telephoto – with two cameras on the front – wide-angle and regular. These offer different focal lengths so no matter how close you are to your subject, you can get a great shot. It also has a 6.4-inch Quad HD+ OLED display (with a notch). This is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset, 6GB fo RAM and 64GB of internal storage. LG has kept the micro SD card slot for expanding storage here, as well as the 3.5mm headphone jack. That means there’s no dongle in the box – because you don’t need one. Finally, the LG V40 ThinQ is powered by a 3300mAh capacity battery. During our review of the LG V40 ThinQ, we found that the battery was decent, and could get you through a day, despite being so much smaller than the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 battery.
Impact: LG’s V40 ThinQ is a really great smartphone to pick up, especially if you are one that does a lot of content creation on your device. Whether that’s being a vlogger, recording videos for YouTube or even being a photographer, the V40 ThinQ fits all of those niches. And that’s not something that’s new for the V-series from LG. This series of smartphones has always catered to the content creator, while the G series was more for everyone else. The price of the LG V40 ThinQ really does show that it is a content creators device, closing in on that $1,000 price tag. Unfortunately, LG doesn’t quite have enough clout to make the carriers all charge the same amount for the phone, so it ranges from $920 to $980. But with what you’re getting in the LG V40 ThinQ, it’s well worth the price.
