Samsung has released a video that guides users in the process of transferring their data from their old Samsung Galaxy device to the Galaxy Note 9. This process utilizes the tech firm’s Smart Switch app and the Smart Switch adapter. Aside from files and images stored in the older Galaxy smartphone, the Smart Switch feature can also transfer accessibility, Wi-Fi, and app settings, and it can also move wallpapers, home screen folders, app shortcuts, and widgets to the Galaxy Note 9. To facilitate the transfer of data, users should first connect the Galaxy Note 9 with the older Galaxy handset using the Smart Switch adapter. Once the two smartphones are connected, a pop-up will appear on the Galaxy Note 9 that will prompt people to select the appropriate application for the USB device, and at this point, users should tap the Smart Switch app. This action will open the application, although users will first have to go through the software’s introduction and terms of service before they could start transferring their data from older Galaxy smartphones.
After agreeing with the terms of service, users will then see a screen that enables the user to either send to or receive data from another smartphone. People will then select the receive option on their Galaxy Note 9, and the application will start screening for the user’s files stored in the older smartphone immediately after the person grants the app the necessary permissions on the older device. After the scanning process is completed, users could then choose which files will be transferred to the Galaxy Note 9 using a Media Transfer Protocol (MTP) connection, and they will then tap the transfer button to initiate the backup process. People will then press the close app option after the data transfer process has been completed.
The Galaxy Note 9 is the latest addition to the Samsung’s Galaxy Note lineup, and one of the key selling points of the device is its S Pen, which now supports Bluetooth Low Energy. This connectivity feature allows the stylus to remotely control the music playback and camera shutter of the smartphone. The Galaxy Note 9 contains either 6GB or 8GB of RAM and either 128GB or 512GB of internal flash storage. The smartphone is powered either by the Snapdragon 845 chipset or by the Exynos 9810 SoC.
