Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.1 (2018) Pays A Visit To The FCC

The upcoming Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.1 (2018) has just popped up at the FCC website. This essentially means that the tablet got certified, while it’s also an indication that it may become available in the US. This listing does not really reveal all that much info about the Galaxy Tab A 10.1 (2018), but it does contain the SM-T595 model number, which reveals that we are looking at the Galaxy Tab A 10.1 (2018).

That being said, this is not the first time we’re seeing the Galaxy Tab A 10.1 (2018) listing, as this tablet got its Wi-Fi Alliance certification already, earlier this month, while the device’s color options leaked quite recently as well. According to the provided info, the device will be available in ‘Black’ and ‘Gray’ color variants, though we’re still not sure those will be the official names, Samsung may opt for ‘Midnight Black’ or something of the sort. The Galaxy Tab A 10.1 (2018) will be a direct successor to the Galaxy Tab A 10.1 (2016), as the company did not release such a tablet last year. The Galaxy Tab A 10.1 (2018) will be a mid-range tablet, that is for sure, and it will probably be fueled by one of Samsung’s mid-range Exynos processors, at least if its predecessor is any indication, though there’s always a chance Samsung may opt for one of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 600-series chips instead.

The Galaxy Tab A 10.1 (2018), as its name says, will ship with a 10.1-inch display, and chances are that Samsung will look to retain the same resolution and probably even aspect ratio as on the Galaxy Tab A 10.1 (2016), which means we may look at a 1920 x 1200 display, which translates to a 16:10 aspect ratio. Samsung will almost certainly release several variants of the Galaxy Tab A 10.1, and one of them will ship with the company’s S Pen stylus. Android 8.1 Oreo is expected to come pre-installed on the device, and on top of it you’ll get Samsung’s custom UI, of course.
