The Nokia 6.1 Plus has been spotted on Google’s list of ARCore devices, which suggests that the phone is on the way. Needless to say, the Nokia 6.1 Plus has not been announced thus far, nor have we seen any leaks / rumors regarding this particular phone. The Nokia 7 Plus has been announced, and the Nokia 5.1 Plus is on the way, so based on that, we can guess what the Nokia 6.1 Plus will bring to the table.
The Nokia 6.1 Plus is expected to be somewhere in between the Nokia 6.1 and Nokia 7 Plus in terms of specs, so chances are this will be a mid-range smartphone. The Snapdragon 636 64-bit octa-core processor will probably fuel the device, while you can expect to see 4GB of RAM on the inside. HMD Global will probably opt for either 32GB or 64GB of internal storage, though both of those variants may end up being available, who knows. The Nokia 5.1 Plus and Nokia 7 Plus sport two cameras on the back, so chances are the Nokia 6.1 Plus will ship with a similar setup. Android Oreo is expected to be included in the package, as the Nokia 6.1 Plus will be a part of Google’s Android One project, as are its siblings, which means that stock Android will be included.
It is also worth pointing out that the Nokia 6.1, Nokia 7 Plus, and Nokia 8 Sirocco offer support for Google ARCore, and the Nokia 6 Plus will join them, it seems. The Nokia 6.1 Plus will probably resemble the Nokia 6.1 as far as the design is concerned, which means that we’ll get a metal-clad smartphone, which will sport some bezel above and below the display, those bezels won’t exactly be as thin as they are on some other modern smartphones, though we’re only guessing here. It is possible that HMD Global plans to unveil the Nokia 6.1 Plus at this year’s IFA tradeshow in Berlin, as this is the first time we’re hearing about the phone, and IFA will take place in September. Then again, HMD Global may opt to release it sooner than that, we’ll see.
