Have you ever been watching a story on Instagram and thought how much better it would be if it had a built-in soundtrack? Well, wonder no more, because that feature is now part of the mix.
Instagram has announced brand new “Music Stickers”. These work similarly to how other stickers function within Stories, letting users quickly customize their creations with just a few taps.
Now, when you open the tray to add a sticker to a photo or video in your story, you will see the new music stickers option. Instagram says it already has “thousands” of songs available and that it is adding new tracks and artists every single day. Users can search for a specific song or by mood, genre, or what’s popular. You can even fast forward or rewind to find a specific part of a song you want to add.
There is one more new feature coming down the pipe. Instagram will let you choose a song before you even record a video for a story, just by selecting the new “music” option when you open the camera within the app. Choose the song and the part you want, then record the video and the music will be added automatically. That is an iOS-only feature right now, but it’s “coming soon” to Android at some point.
