A couple of days ago, UMIDIGI had introduced its Z2 and Z2 Pro smartphones, but back then, the company did not release all the necessary info… well, that has changed now. UMIDIGI has now released full spec sheets for the two phones, along with some images of both devices. As you can see, the UMIDIGI Z2 and Z2 Pro sport the exact same design, though the Z2 Pro is a more powerful handset. These two phones actually sport the same dimensions, they’re basically identical when it comes to the design.
Having said that, the UMIDIGI Z2 and Z2 Pro are both made out of metal and glass, they both sport a display notch, and a thin ‘chin’ below the display. There are two cameras included on both devices, while a fingerprint scanner sits right below those two sensors. UMIDIGI’s branding is included on the back of both devices, and both phones ship with right-facing physical keys. Having said that, let’s first talk about specs that these two phones share. Both devices come with 6GB of RAM, while both of them also feature the same displays up front, a 6.2-inch fullHD+ (2246 x 1080) IPS LCD panel. Android 8.1 Oreo comes pre-installed on both devices, while these two phones also share the same camera setups. On the back of the UMIDIGI Z2 phones, you will find 16-megapixel (f/2.0 aperture) and 8-megapixel cameras (Samsung’s sensors), while PDAF is included in the mix as well. A dual-LED flash is included in the package as well, and both phones are capable of shooting 4K video. 16 and 8-megapixel cameras are included on the front side of the UMIDIGI Z2 and Z2 Pro, though we’re looking at Sony’s sensors here, and they’re capable of shooting fullHD video. The two devices measure 153.4 x 74.4 x 8.3mm, while each of them weighs 165 grams. Both devices will be available in Black, Twilight, and Phantom color variants.
Now, for the differences, the UMIDIGI Z2 comes with 64GB of storage, while its sibling features 128GB of storage. The UMIDIGI Z2 is fueled by the Helio P23 64-bit octa-core SoC and it comes with a 4,050mAH battery, while the UMIDIGI Z2 Pro comes with the Helio P60, and a 3,650mAh battery. Both phones support 18W fast charging, but only the UMIDIGI Z2 Pro comes with 15W fast wireless charging. The UMIDIGI Z2 Pro, unlike the UMIDIGI Z2, also has an NFC chip. The UMIDIGI Z2 is priced at $299.99 ($249.99 during pre-sale period, available soon), while the UMIDIGI Z2 Pro’s price point is still unknown. The UMIDIGI Z2 Pro will become available about a month after its sibling, which probably means it’s coming in June.
