Google is doing something very special this year, opening up the Android P public beta to devices other than their own Pixel phones. Sweet!
If you own an Essential Phone, Nokia 7 Plus, OPPO R15 Pro, OnePlus 6, Sony Xperia XZ2, Vivo X21UD, Vivo X21, or a Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S, you too can have fun with Android P.
Now, if you’re using one of these supported devices, things aren’t as easy as it is on a Pixel phone with regard to getting Android P up and running. There are no OTA options, but if you’re comfortable with downloading files and flashing them manually via adb (or by OEM client software), you’ll be just fine. After following the link below for your device, many of the OEMs offer instructions on getting Android P booted up.
For the OnePlus 6, which hasn’t yet launched, OnePlus says the beta will open May 16, the same day the phone is launched.
Supported Devices and Links to Beta
- Essential Phone
- Nokia 7 Plus
- OPPO R15 Pro
- OnePlus 6

Enjoy.
