Chicago 2018 Memorial Day Parade Date, Time and Location
The city of Chicago knows that there is much more to Memorial Day than barbeques, camping, and a three-day weekend. It is a time for all of us to come together to honor those in the military who made the ultimate sacrifice while defending our country. In tribute, Chicago is holding its annual Memorial Day Parade and a Wreath Laying Ceremony. Check below for more details about when and where to attend this event.
Chicago 2018 Memorial Day Parade
Date: Saturday, May 26
Wreath Laying Ceremony at 11 am
Parade begins at 12 pm
Route: Travels down State Street from Lake Street to Van Buren Street

Before the parade, the Wreath Laying Ceremony will be held on Daley Plaza beginning at 11 am. Daley Plaza can be found on Dearborn and Washington streets. This solemn ceremony focuses on honoring fallen members of the military and Gold Star families who have lost loved ones who served in the United States Armed Forces. Gold Star families will be presented with Gold Star Lapel Pins and Next of Kin Lapel Pins. These lapel pins service as symbols to remember their loved ones and honor their sacrifice.
After the Wreath Laying Ceremony, the Memorial Day Parade will begin approximately at noon. The procession will travel south on State Street beginning at Lake Street and will end on Van Buren Street.
