Earlier this week, we exclusively reported on a leaked render of the LG G7 ThinQ, LG’s upcoming new flagship smartphone to replace 2017’s LG G6. While the render did match up with some of the earlier leaks, this is the first time that an image had been shown with LG‘s full color lineup for the device, which includes five different colors in total. In addition to the five color options the LG G7 ThinQ will come with a dual camera setup on the back as have past LG flagship devices, as well as a rear-facing fingerprint sensor, a 16-megapixel sensor for each of the two back cameras, and of course the tall display aspect ratio with almost no bezels, and the infamous notch that people will either love or hate.
The nice thing about the notch is that users should be able to hide it as per a previously leaked video from Mobile World Congress that showed off a phone called the LG G7 Neo. Whether or not it can be hidden all of the time or just during certain functions is unclear, but it seems quite possible that LG is implementing this capability, which should make at least some users happier than if it weren’t possible to hide it at all.
On paper there seems to be a lot to love about the LG G7 ThinQ, from a pretty decent design, to dual cameras, to a big screen, and up to date software. Not to mention plenty of features that should entice consumers. For instance, there’s going to be plenty of AI-powered features integrated with the phone, and users will be able to expect AR Stickers and the ever-popular portrait mode that will help to focus in on the subject in a photo while the background is nearly completely blurred.
