Previously Unannounced Blu Pure View Shows Up On Amazon

A new unlocked Android handset from Blu – the Blu Pure View – seems to have popped up unannounced on Amazon’s website, boasting lower-mid-range specs and a couple of more premium features for just under $200. Perhaps unsurprisingly, the fact that this device has not been revealed by the manufacturer yet means that the device is, as of this writing, listed as temporarily out of stock. It may also be a good idea to take the listing with a grain of salt until Blu provides more details or it is listed as in stock. Regardless, this seems to be a solid offering from the relatively prolific company.

With regard to what the specs of the Blu Pure View are, they line up well with what might be expected from a budget conscious mid-range device. On the inside, the handset is powered by MediaTek’s 64-bit, octa-core MT6753 SoC – which is typically backed up by a Mali-T720 GPU. That’s said to be clocked at a respectable 1.3GHz. Backing that chipset up is a healthy 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage, which is expandable via micro SD card to up to 64GB. No information is provided about which version of Android OS the Pure View will ship with or what the device’s battery rating will be, but the listing does say that Blu’s latest device will arrive with quick charging, a fingerprint scanner – visible in the associated images on the back, under the main camera – and face unlocking features. For cameras, the Blu Pure View is listed as including a single 13-megapixel main camera accompanied by an LED flash. Around the front of the device, users will find a dual 8-megapixel wide-angle selfie camera that also has its own LED flash. The screen is a generous 5.7-inch Gorilla Glass 3 display with an aspect ratio of 18:9 and HD+ resolution.

Ordinarily, Amazon lists a date or range of dates for when an item is expected to be back in stock but that isn’t the case here. So, it isn’t clear whether or not the listing is intentional or when, exactly, the Blu Pure View will become available. The smartphone maker hasn’t provided any details about this device prior to the Amazon listing, either. According to Amazon, the device will work with all GSM networks in the U.S. when it does begin shipping, with both 4G LTE and 3G HSPA+ supported.
