The luxury brand Michael Kors has announced the availability of new color options for the Michael Kors Sofie and the Grayson touchscreen smartwatches for Spring 2018. There will be four new color styles for the Sofie smartwatch series, which include the rose gold tone, brilliant blue sky, two-tone, and white silicone-wrapped variants. There will also be new color variants for the Grayson series, namely the dark green, black, and the silver-tone color options.
Aside from the new color variants, Michael Kors also stated that its latest smartwatches will have two new software features. First is the My Social feature, a software that allows users to link their smartwatches to their Facebook or Instagram accounts. Once the smartwatches are linked to their social media accounts, users may then choose a personal photograph for a custom face for their wearables. Another new software functionality is dubbed as the My Next, a feature that shows a countdown to an upcoming important event. Both of these features can be accessed through the Michael Kors app.
Despite the differences in color, the latest variants of the Michael Kors Sofie and the Grayson series are still powered by the Snapdragon Wear 2100 chipset, which is comprised of a quad-core ARM Cortex A7 32-bit CPU and the Adreno 304 GPU. Both devices offer up to 24 hours of battery life and include 512MB of RAM and 4GB of internal flash storage. Moreover, both smartwatches support Bluetooth 4.1 Low Energy and the two products contain a light sensor, accelerometer, and gyroscope. However, the devices lack support for NFC and the two smartwatches also do not include a heart rate monitor. The Sofie and Grayson wearables both run Android Wear 2.0 and the two watches feature the Google Assistant, which allows the wearables to make phone calls and search the internet through voice commands. Other additional features of the wearables include customizable display faces and activity tracking. The latter functionality utilizes the Google Fit app, a fitness tracking application developed by the search giant. Consumers can also change the straps of their smartwatches, with the device maker offering straps made from silicone, leather, or embossed python. The new color options of the Sofie touchscreen and Grayson smartwatches will be sold by select retailers around the world by the end of this month.
