Honor has just announced the Honor 9 Lite in India. This handset was introduced in China last month, and it is also known as the Honor 9 Youth Edition. Having said that, the company did promise that the device will arrive to India, and that has just happened. This handset is completely identical to the one released in China, at least in terms of the design and specifications. That being said, let’s see what this phone has to offer, shall we.
The Honor 9 Lite is a mid-range smartphone, this handset is made out of metal and glass, while it sports a rear-facing fingerprint scanner. Above that fingerprint scanner, you will notice a dual camera setup, and an LED flash. All physical keys are placed on the right-hand side of the Honor 9 Lite, while a SIM card tray is placed on the left. Honor’s branding is present both on the phone’s back, and below the device’s display. The Honor 9 Lite does come with thin bezels, but not as thin as some other phones out there, though it’s worth noting this is a mid-range smartphone. This handset features a 5.65-inch fullHD+ (2160 x 1080) display, with a 2.5D curved glass on top of it. The Honor 9 Lite is fueled by the Kirin 659 64-bit octa-core processor, which is Huawei’s mid-range chip. The device packs in 3GB / 4GB of RAM, the 3GB RAM variant comes with 32GB of storage, while the 4GB RAM model ships with 64GB of storage. The Honor 9 Lite does offer microSD storage expansions, while Android 8.0 Oreo comes pre-installed on the device, along with Huawei’s Emotion UI (EMUI) 8.0.
This smartphone sports two SIM card slots on the inside, two nano SIM cards, one of which you can use to insert a microSD card and expand the phone’s storage. 13 and 2-megapixel cameras are included on the back of the Honor 9 Lite, while you will find 13 and 2-megapixel cameras on the front of the device as well, but we’re looking at different sensors here. A 3,000mAh non-removable battery is included in this package, while the same can be said for Bluetooth 4.2. The device comes in Black, Glue, and Gray color variants, while the 3GB RAM model costs Rs. 10,999 ($172) in India. The 4GB RAM variant with 64GB of storage is priced at Rs. 14,999 ($235), and the device will become available exclusively via Flipkart and Honor Store starting on January 21.
