The Android-powered Honor View 10 will be priced at Rs 29,999 ($473) in India, Huawei’s subsidiary revealed on Thursday, reiterating that the smartphone is set to go on sale next week. The development dispels previous rumors of a significantly higher price tag that some leaks were suggesting last month, with Honor once again opting to release a device that’s simultaneously set to compete in the high-end market segment and is priced in an extremely aggressive manner. Much like the majority of the company’s recent devices released in the South Asian country, the Honor View 10 is an Amazon India exclusive and will likely remain one for the entirety of its (digital) shelf life.
The Indian unit of Honor already confirmed the charger bundled with the Honor View 10 will support 9V/2A fast charging, whereas only the most powerful variant of the handset is set to be released next week, i.e. the aforementioned price tag will be attached to the Honor View 10 model with 128GB of flash storage and 6GB of RAM. It’s presently unclear whether the base version of the device with half the internal memory and 4GB of RAM will eventually be released in the country as well. The handset runs Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box, coupled with Huawei-made EMUI, with Honor already confirming it will ennoble it with support for a face unlock feature via an over-the-air update set to be rolled out in the coming months.
The Chinese original equipment manufacturer is positioning the Honor View 10 as a flagship killer of sorts, having equipped it with the premium HiSilicon Kirin 970 SoC and a 5.99-inch FHD+ screen taking advantage of an 18:9 (2:1) aspect ratio. A 3,750mAh battery is also part of the package, as is a dual-camera setup consisting of a 16-megapixel sensor and a 20-megapixel one, with the duo being accompanied by an LED flash. The slim top bezel of the smartphone houses a 13-megapixel camera mounted behind an f/2.0 lens. The Honor View 10 will go on sale in India on Monday, January 8th. The same smartphone already debuted in the company’s home country as the Honor V10 and is also available for purchase in Europe.
