A new case just appeared online, and the source claims that this is a case for the upcoming Xiaomi Mi 6X. Now, by looking at this case, you’d think this is a case for the iPhone X due to the positioning of the main camera cutout, and also the cutout for the Apple logo on the back. Well, that logo cutout could actually be there for a rear-facing fingerprint scanner of the Xiaomi 6X, which is what the source is trying to imply, though this is the first time that we’re hearing about the Xiaomi Mi 6X, so who knows if there’s any truth to this leak / rumor.
The Xiaomi Mi 5X had been announced back in July this year as the company’s mid-range smartphone, which suggests that the Mi 6X will launch in mid-2018 as a mid-range phone as well. Having said that, it seems like some rumors suggest that the Xiaomi Mi 6X will not be a mid-range phone at all, but a high-end device, even though that’s kind of hard to believe. Truth be told this leak does seem hard to believe, but we’ll need to wait for some leaks of an actual device in order to be sure. The Xiaomi Mi 7 is actually expected to launch in the first half of next year, which casts even more doubt on this leak. The Xiaomi Mi 6 was announced back in April this year, and its successor will be considerably different, it seems. The Xiaomi Mi 6 is a compact phone, it sports a 5.15-inch fullHD (1920 x 1080) display, while it is made out of metal and glass. Well, the Xiaomi Mi 7 is expected to sport considerably thinner bezels than the Mi 6, and follow in the footsteps of the Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus.
The Xiaomi Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus are the first phones in which Xiaomi trimmed down bezels, and considering that the Mi 7 will be the company’s all-new flagship, we do expect to see those bezels get trimmed down even more. It is still unknown as to what size will the Mi 7’s display be, but it will almost certainly be larger than the one included in the Mi 6 (5.15-inch panel), so it’s possible that it will measure somewhere between 5.5 and 5.7-inches. The Xiaomi Mi 7 will sport wireless charging according to a report that surfaced earlier this year, and the phone will almost certainly be fueled by the Snapdragon 845 64-bit octa-core processor, Qualcomm’s flagship SoC.
