Verizon reportedly has a bill payment application in the works that will feature multiple tools to help people stay on track with all of their finances. The app is currently in a trial phase and it appears that Verizon is taking applications for people who are interested in testing it out after becoming part of the trial. The app, which seems to be called Prism at the moment (there’s no guarantee that the name will stay the same once and if it’s launched down the road.), is something that users can sign up for by creating an account after hitting the button below which will take you right to the trial page that describes the trial. For those wondering, this is likely the same Prism that’s already available in the Play Store and can be downloaded by anyone regardless of the carrier they’re already with. The logo for the app is even the same logo you would see show up in the Chrome tab if you were looking at the trial signup page on a desktop.
That said, what Verizon is likely trying to do with Prism is help consolidate all of your finance-related information into one place by integrating Prism with its own My Verizon app, or simply pre-install it on future phones. Prism will be able to track and display your bills so you always know when something is going to be due and how much it will cost. Users would be able to get notifications on their device from Prism that a bill was going to be due soon so they have a heads up on making sure it gets paid on time, and the app will even be able to pay those bills for you if you want things to be more convenient and automated, which, would leave you with one less thing to have to worry about, or multiple things if you’re having the app automatically pay multiple bills for you.
In addition to getting notified about upcoming payments, tracking bills and paying bills, Prism will also be able to help users monitor their bank accounts in real time so they’re never unaware what’s going on with their account finances. Technically most people could track their bank accounts using the dedicated banking app, but the nice thing about Prism being able to do is that it will be in one place with the other kinds of information, so instead of having to use one, two, or three separate apps for everything, users can simply use one app for everything instead which would make things a whole lot more convenient. There’s no information on how long the trial will be and for the moment Verizon hasn’t shared any details on what it’s plans are for the Prism app in the long run.
