Android 8.0 Oreo is fresh on the block, and as such, has yet to roll out to many Android devices. HTC is beating many of its competitors to the punch and has announced that the Oreo update is now rolling out to the HTC U11 Life on T-Mobile. The standard OTA update method is being used and it may take a little while for users to receive the update, as carriers generally push large updates in phases. HTC has also noted that users will need to use Wi-Fi to download the update, as it’s too large for cellular networks.
Though not groundbreaking, Oreo is packed with features and adds extra polish to Android. Some of the major improvements include faster boot speeds, background activity limits, redesigned emoji, improved security, notification dots for app icons, and picture-in-picture, which allows video playback to continue in a minimized box while using other apps.
The update is rolling out now. Drop a comment when you receive it!
