The unannounced Meizu 15 Plus is up for another round of leaks, this time being depicted in a trio of live photos showing the alleged device’s front and back panel. The overall design is not as exciting as previously suggested by the teaser images unveiled by the company’s CEO, and assuming that the older sketches were accurate, some characteristics seem to be somewhat different, i.e. the device seen in the photos presents a considerably thicker upper bezel which changes the whole design language. But as expected, the device also retains the mBack multifunctional home key and has a vertically aligned dual-camera configuration coupled with an unusual-looking module that may act as an LED flash.
Additionally, the Meizu 15 Plus depicted in these images appears to be wrapped in a metal unibody separated only by a couple of antenna bands running across the top and lower back panel. The display seems to be covered in curved 3D glass wrapping around all four edges and corners of the device, but the aspect ratio doesn’t seem to push any boundaries beyond the 16:9 standard. No other details were revealed by the source but according to previous reports, the Meizu 15 Plus will be released in two different hardware configurations, i.e. one employing 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, and another one boasting 8GB of RAM and 256GB of on-board memory. Also according to previous reports, the base model will carry a price of 2,999 yuan or roughly $453 at today’s conversion rate, whereas the beefier version will reportedly be priced at 3,499 yuan or the current equivalent of $528.
It’s difficult to be sure whether the device seen in these leaked images is indeed the Meizu 15 Plus or a different model. Either way, the company’s founder Jack Wong previously confirmed that the Meizu M15 Plus will be officially introduced next spring around China’s Spring Festival set to take place in February. The company also previously stated that it isn’t rushing to adopt full-screen designs due to practicality and other reasons, though it did later backtrack on these comments and confirmed that it is working on a “device with a bezel-less design.” The Meizu 15 Plus doesn’t seem to be it judging by these leaked images but only time will tell for certain.
