Sprint has launched a new tablet from LG today, it’s the LG G Pad F2 8.0. Which as you can likely tell from the name, is a 8-inch tablet. That is a WXGA display, which has a resolution of 1280×800, so it’s not exactly Full HD, but a tad above HD. This means its a 16:10 aspect ratio display and not the standard 16:9 or 4:3 ratio that most tablets use these days. Inside, it has a 1.5GHz octa-core processor, which is unnamed, but it is likely a Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset, since this does support 3G and 4G LTE on Sprint’s network. That is paired with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage. There is also a micro SD card slot available for those that need a bit more storage space.
LG’s G Pad F2 8.0 is decidedly a mid-range tablet, and it also has mid-range cameras with a 5-megapixel sensor on both the front and back. There is also a 3000mAh battery inside, which should keep the tablet running all day long, especially considering it does have a somewhat lower-resolution display and a power sipping 1.5GHz processor. It does have support for Sprint’s LTE Plus network, so you’ll get some fast speeds on this tablet, which is also unlimited. Something that Sprint and other carriers have been pushing lately with tablets, to get more people to pick one up. There is support for WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n as well as WiFi Hotspot capability.
Sprint is selling the LG G Pad F2 8.0 for $149 outright, or you can pick it up on a two-year lease for $6.25 per month (the final month is $6.24) at 0% interest. It’s a pretty good tablet for that price, although if you aren’t in need of a tablet with LTE connectivity, Amazon does also have some great tablets available that are cheaper in some cases, and offer the same specs and the same apps and games. The LG G Pad F2 8.0 is available now from Sprint’s website as well as in-store. If you are thinking about picking one up, it’s a good idea to head to the store and check it out before you buy one.
