Shea butter is made from the shea tree nut. It has many beneficial properties such as boosting the production of collagen, moisturizing the sin and it also fights inflammation. It is a part of many cosmetic products and you can make your own products at home.

Stretch mark cream
It has the ability to lighten stretch marks due to the collagen boosting and anti-aging properties. Mix 3 ounces of coconut oil, ¾ ounce of shea butter and the same amount of cocoa butter, 6 tbsp. of water, and 3 tbsp. of almond oil. Heat the mixture for a while on a low heat and stir. You need to get a creamy texture. Remove it from the heat and add 20 drops of cypress and lavender oil each, 10 drops of helichrysum and grapefruit oil each, and 2 tsp. of vitamin E oil. Put this cream in a glass jar.

Body butter
Shea butter is hypoallergenic and has moisturizing properties. You can prepare your own body butter with ½ a cup of shea butter, ½ cup coconut oil and ½ a cup of olive oil. Heat the mixture on a medium heat until the oils melt. Remove the mixture from the heat and add 10—30 drops of some essential oil. Put it in the fridge for 30 minutes and then in a glass jar.

Acne treatment
Shea butter is great for treating acne. Mix 4 tbsp. of shea butter, 1 tsp. of aloe Vera gel, 1 tsp. of rose water, ½ tsp. of honey, and 4 drops of lavender, tea tree, and geranium oils each. Blend the mixture in a blender and apply it on your previously cleaned face.

Pain relief bar
Due to its anti-inflammatory properties, it can be used as a pain relief lotion. Rub this lotion on the painful areas when needed. Mix 1/3 cup of coconut oil, shea butter, and beeswax each and put the mixture on a medium heat. Stir and add 1 tbsp. of menthol crystals. Continue to stir and add 10 drops of peppermint oil and ½ a tap. of arnica oil. Mix well and leave it to harden.

Cracked heel treatment
Simply apply some shea butter on your cracked feet put on some socks and leave them overnight. Your heels will be soft and beautiful.

Hair mask
Mix 1-3 tbsp. of shea butter and 1/2 – 1 tbsp. of coconut oil. Heat the mixture and when it melts add 2-3 drops of bergamot oil and whip it with a beater. Apply this mask to your hair roots and your tips and leave it for 30 minutes. Wash well at the end.

Cuticle treatment
Apply some shea butter on your cuticle and leave it overnight.

Lowers cholesterol
Taking shea butter orally has the ability to lower your cholesterol levels but interferes with protein digestion so be careful if you take it orally.
