Ted Reuter and Noise Free America want noise laws to be enforced: Too much noise hampers Americans’ sleep and productivity, aggravates the symptoms of autism in children, triggers post-traumatic stress syndrome in military veterans and is just plain annoying.
And in this corner, Vince Consiglio, president of Michigan’s chapter of ABATE, says “leaving plumes of sound is part of the thrill… we like to say — be proud, be loud,”
Michigan’s ABATE managed to repeal its helmet law in 2012, now its goal is to exempt motorcycles from EPA restrictions on noise and emission levels. Consiglio says the EPA is unfairly keeping motorcyclists from the full enjoyment of their sport.
