In spite of HTC yet to officially announce the HTC U11 Life, T-Mobile has now pretty much confirmed what will be on offer with this new device, due to the T-Mobile support pages listing the phone, as well as its technical information, and even its user manual. The support pages largely confirm most, if not all of the main specs, as well as some of the additional features that are likely to be positioned as the phone’s main selling points. Like, for example, Edge Sense. Following in the tradition of the more-premium HTC U11, the HTC U11 Life is now all but confirmed as coming equipped with Edge Sense, allowing the owner to squeeze the sides of the phone to initiate a predefined command.
Other “key features” listed for the U11 Life include the addition of not only Google Assistant but also Amazon Alexa (in addition to the company’s own Sense Companion), providing users with the option to choose which assistant they prefer the help of. An IP67 water and dust-resistance certification is thrown in for good measure. As are HTC USonic earbuds – the same earbuds packaged with the HTC U11 and ones which “map your inner ear” for an improved (and individual) sound quality. As for the more general specs, the HTC U11 Life is now seemingly confirmed as featuring a 5.2-inch display along with a 1920 x 1080 resolution. Inside, the HTC U11 Life comes loaded with 3GB RAM, 32GB internal storage, and is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 octa-core processor. Cameras come in the form of a 16-megapixel camera on the back, as well as another 16-megapixel camera on the front. Additional features include 4G LTE support, microSD card support (up to 2TB), a 2,600 mAh battery, and Android 7.1.1 (Nougat) overseen by HTC Sense. This last part is worth noting as it has previously been rumored that the U11 Life would be announced as an Android One device. Although based on this information that might not be the case, at least not for the US variant. Speaking of which, it evidently seems highly likely that T-Mobile will be selling the U11 Life when it does get released in the US.
While it is still unclear when this phone will make it to the US, HTC is gearing up for a November 2 announcement which is largely understood to be when this phone will get its formal introduction. Even more so now that the T-Mobile listing has gone live a little prematurely. Although besides the price and the availability, it seems there won’t be much else to announce on the day, beyond what T-Mobile has now confirmed. That is, providing the other rumored ‘U’ phone, the HTC U11 Plus also does not get announced on November 2. For those interested in knowing more about the U11 Life, the support pages have already been removed but the gallery below will provide an overview of most of the main points noted.
