Google had introduced two new smartphones today, the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL, and along with these two phones, the company announced their availability info as well. Now, the Google Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL are direct successors to the Pixel and Pixel XL which were announced last year, though this time around the two devices don’t exactly sport the same design, and their price points are somewhat different as well. Speaking of which, let’s talk more about the availability of these two handsets, shall we.
The Google Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL come in two variants each, the more affordable models feature 64GB of storage, while the more expensive variants offer 128GB of internal storage. Having said that, Google announced that the two phones will be available in the US, and in five additional countries. Aside from the US, the Google Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL will be available for purchase in Australia, Canada, Germany, India, Italy, Singapore Spain and the UK. Those of you who are interested in getting any of these two phones will probably want to know that the Google Pixel 2 comes in Kinda Blue, Just Black and Clearly White color variants, while the Pixel 2 XL comes in Just Black and Black & White color options. Now, as far as pricing is concerned, the two variants of the Google Pixel 2 costs $649 and $749 in the US, while the Pixel 2 XL variants are priced at $849 and $949 in the country. That being said, these prices vary for countries outside of the US, both phones are more expensive, as expected. The Google Pixel 2 models are priced at AU$1,079 and AU$1,229 in Australia, while we still don’t have info as to how much its sibling will cost. The 64GB and 128GB storage variants of the Google Pixel 2 will be priced at £629 and £729 in the UK, respectively, while the info for the Pixel 2 XL is not available just yet, at the time of writing this article. The Google Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL actually share most of their internals, but they look considerably different, and there’s a reason for that. The Google Pixel 2 sports a 5-inch fullHD (1920 x 1080) AMOLED display, while the Pixel 2 XL sports a 6-inch QHD+ (2880 x 1440) pOLED panel, which is curved on the sides. Both devices are fueled by the Snapdragon 835 64-bit octa-core SoC, and both phones come with 4GB of RAM on the inside. Android 8.0 Oreo come out of the box on both of these phones, of course, and both devices sport a rear-facing fingerprint scanner, and a 12.2-megapixel main camera.
