Gionee F6L With An 18:9 Panel And Dual Cameras Hits TENAA

Chinese smartphone manufacturer Gionee is seemingly preparing a new smartphone for market release as suggested by the regulatory agency TENAA, where the model number “Gionee F6L” was recently discovered alongside a list of hardware characteristics. Unlike in most cases, live photos with the device are missing from the TENAA database, however judging by the listed specifications it would seem that the Gionee F6L will feature two main cameras and an elongated 5.7-inch IPS display with an 18:9 aspect ratio, which seems to accommodate a total of 1440 by 720 pixels.

Whether the 18:9 IPS display will be surrounded by bezels or present itself in a full-screen design is unclear. However, as a point of reference, the device measures 153.8 x 72.6 x 7.8mm making it marginally taller than the full-screen LG G6, which features a similarly sized 5.7-inch panel and a body measuring 148.9 x 71.2 x 7.9mm. Other details mentioned by the Chinese regulatory agency include an unspecified eight-core processor with a frequency of 1.4GHz, two RAM configurations of 3GB and 4GB, and 32GB of on-board memory expandable by up to an additional 128GB via microSD. Interestingly enough, it seems that the smartphone has been equipped with a dual camera setup comprising a 13-megapixel main shooter coupled with a 2-megapixel secondary sensor, while also adopting an 8-megapixel front-facing unit. Lastly, TENAA mentions support for Bluetooth, USB, and 4G LTE (with VoLTE) connectivity, while all the components will rely on a 2,970mAh battery.

The Gionee F6L should be released in at least three color options including blue, black, and gold, but no details regarding pricing and availability have emerged thus far. Prior to this TENAA entry, Gionee had released the M7 and M7 Power smartphones relatively shortly after their respective TENAA listings, which might suggest that the Gionee F6L might not be too far from debut either. Whatever the case may be, the newly-discovered model is expected to fit in the budget-friendly market segment considering its specifications, and in turn, this should hint at a launch price lower than the Gionee M7 Power’s, which was introduced in China in late September for the starting equivalent price of $300. All in all, the Gionee F6L shapes up to be an affordable ticket into the realm of 18:9 displays and dual camera combos.
