The weather has been getting cooler and I’m craving all sorts of comfort food these days.
We have a super fancy old-school steakhouse in Downtown Portland that’s great for date nights, celebrations or when our parents are in town. Ringside Steakhouse Uptown on W. Burnside has been a Portland fixture for the last 73 years.
The space is dim, with a warm roaring fire, soft lighting, red leather banquettes and where you go for a fancy steak dinner in town. Lots of people were on romantic dates, celebrating birthdays or with colleagues for a work dinner. It’s definitely a great place for a special occassion.
They just recently launched ‘Prime Time Mondays’ – a special 3-course Prime Rib dinner for just $35, served every Monday. I do love a good prime rib dinner with all the fixin’s because it’s hard just to cook prime rib for ourselves (it’s just the two of us).
Paul and I stopped by on a Monday night and the prime rib is a serious thick-cut of meat – I took half of it home and made a sandwich with it the next day. It’s served au jus with a starter, sides and dessert.
Do NOT miss out on their award-winning onion rings. They are some of the best I have ever had. We chose this as one of our starters.
I tried to be a little bit healthy and opted for the house salad

For a small fee, I upgraded to the Lobster Mashed Potatoes!

It’s an incredible value based on the all food you get and a great way to try out Ringside Steakhouse for the first time. We loved it so much, that we’re hoping to go back soon for the steak.
