Rheumatoid arthritis is best treated with some exercises. If you do them on a regular basis you will experience a great relief and the pain will be gone. Today we are going to show you some exercises that can help you with that.
Arthritis is actually an illness that affects the joints, the musculoskeletal system of your body. The symptoms are swelling, stiffness and pain in the bones, muscles, joints, tendons, and ligaments. This is an autoimmune, chronic disorder and causes inflammation in your joints especially in the small ones like in the feet and hands. It actually affects the lining of the joints which leads to joint deformity and bone erosion.
The exercises will maintain the flexibility of the muscles and improve the mobility of the joints. They will also reduce stress and improve your sleep. Keep in mind not to perform these exercises when you have severe pain in your joints.
First exercise
Stand straight or sit in a chair with your spine straight. Put the hand in front of you in a way that you are able to see the palms. The palms should be faced towards you and the fingers up. Now make a fist and then try stretching them wide open. Repeat this exercise with both of your hands.
Second exercise
Straighten the wrist. Work with the joints that connect your palm to your fingers and bend your fingers. The wrist, the end and middle joint of the fingers should be straight. Hold this position for 10 seconds and then unbend.
Third exercise
Sit straight in a chair. Your legs should hang so it must be a high chair. Stretch your legs forward and hold this position for 10 seconds. Then bend the legs so the angle between the leg and the foot is 90 degrees. Repeat this 10 times.
Fourth exercise
Sit in a chair with your spine straight and your arms on your lap. Your palm should be faced upwards. Now try bending the arms, the palm should face your shoulders. Relax the fingers and your fingertips should be brought towards the shoulders. Bring the elbows upwards and draw circles in the air with them. Repeat this for 10 times, straighten the arms and relax for 5 seconds.
Other exercises that can be very beneficial for you are swimming and cycling. Before you do any of these exercises the best thing to do is to consult your doctor.
