Alarming signs that you are eating too much sugar!



One of the ingredients that causes addiction is sugar. It is present in almost everything even in things that we cannot imagine. It is the main culprit of many illnesses and we must learn how much sugar is enough for our body.

When we consume too much sugar our body signals us but we should identify it. Here are some signals of too much sugar consumption.

  • Anxiety

It is proven that sugar has similar effects on the body like drugs. The more you eat the more you crave. And if you are one of those people who is trying to quit sugar anxiety is a common problem for them.

  • Wrinkles

Elastin and collagen are the two proteins that are responsible for keeping the skin elastic and young while sugar affects the quality of those two. When sugar comes into the body, a process called glycation occurs (fructose and glucose bind with some proteins). This is the reason why sugar accelerates the process of aging.

  • Visceral fat

The sugar also has a great role in storing the fat in the body, especially around the internal and middle organs. Too much sugar leads to accumulation of visceral fat in the skeletal muscle and in the liver. In this case, you will have elevated levels of cholesterol and triglycerides.

  • Teeth

The bacteria which live in the mouth feed on sugar and they are the main culprits of cavities. They produce acids which break down the teeth layer and the enamel.

  • Inflammation

A research has shown that children (age 2-9) who consumed too much sugar are at greater risk of developing some chronic inflammation compared to those who eat balanced diet and fruits and vegetables.

  • Problems with the intestines

Too much sugar will make you some problems with the digestion. Fructose leads to intestinal leakage and in this way some substances pass into the bloodstream which leads to inflammation and even cancer.

It also has some effects on the intestinal flora as it damages it and causes imbalance. You should avoid consuming too much sugar and substitute it for healthier sugars like stevia.
