2018 Honda Accord Updates and Changes
Honda has made multiple updates and changes to the Accord for the 2018 model year. This includes the engine options offered on the car. The standard engine offered on the Accord will now be a 1.5-liter, turbocharged four-cylinder engine. This engine replaces the 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine that is standard on the 2017 model. Performance numbers on the new 1.5-liter engine check in at 192 horsepower and 192 pound-feet of torque. The previous 2.4-liter four-cylinder was rated at 185 horsepower and 181 pound-feet of torque.
In addition to the base engines, the 2017 Accord and 2018 Accord each offer a second available engine. The 2017 model offers a 3.5-liter V-6 engine, while the 2018 Accord now offers a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine. 2018 Accord models now offer a Two-Mode Driving System. The system features Normal and Sport settings that change the car’s settings depending on the driving environment.
The new design of the 2018 Accord leads to several differences from the previous model. The car utilizes ultra-high-strength steel to reduce the weight by approximately 110 to 176 pounds, depending on the trim level.
