Top 5 most popular Android apps from last week: Adobe Scan, TapTapTap Tile

Every week we cover new Android apps with Fresh Meat on Wednesday, followed by Android Gaming on Thursday and Top 10 App Updates on Friday. When Monday rolls around, we look back to see which apps were the most appealing to our audience. Read on for the five most popular Android apps from last week. These apps are ones that are most likely new and haven’t appeared in the top five list more than three times.

1. Adobe Scan

Adobe Scan

App info: The free Adobe Scan app turns your device into a powerful portable scanner that recognizes text automatically (OCR). Turn anything — receipts, notes, documents, pictures, business cards, whiteboards — into an Adobe PDF with content you can reuse.

2. PhotoPills

PhotoPills

App info: Unlock your creative potential! Discover how to easily turn any Sun, Moon and Milky Way scene you imagine into a real picture… and start shooting truly legendary photos every time you pick up the camera!

3. TapTapTap Tile

TapTapTap Tile

App info:  A very simple straight to the point tile for devices with Quick Tiles support. It adds a shortcut to enable or disable “Show taps”, a switch inside Developer Options. I got tired of going to Dev Options every time I needed to use the tap circle overlay so here it is! This is mostly for developers or designers capturing screen records.

4. Fenix 2 Preview

Fenix 2 Preview

App info:  You can enjoy this free preview while the app is still under heavy development. The final and stable 2.0 version will be a paid upgrade. Your feedback is very welcome! Support for multiple accounts. Fully customisable main screen, where your lists and saved searches can be just a swipe away. Beautiful images and videos previews, with support for external websites like YouTube, Instagram, Vine and Flickr. Gorgeous conversations layout.

5. Path Guide

Path Guide

App info: Path Guide is a completely map-free, infrastructure-free, plug-and-play indoor navigation service. It exploits the ubiquitous geomagnetism and natural walking patterns to guide users to destinations along a path collected by an earlier traveler.

Note:  To ensure that all apps receive a fair chance to make the list, we will retire any app that has made the list for three consecutive weeks.
