Hemmels restored a 1968 Mercedes-Benz 280 SL Pagoda.
Classic Mercedes-Benz restoration expert Hemmels just announced that it will be adding extra jobs. The move is in line with the expansion of the company.
According to Insider Media Limited, Hemmels is set to create 20 jobs in its Cardiff manufacturing facility. The Mercedes restoration specialist is adding a 8,000 sq-ft facility on Penarth Road.
Based on the report, Hemmels was founded in 2016. It was a product of the combination of three automotive businesses that cater to clients in Europe, Canada, China, Australia and US.
The company specializes in restoring classic Mercedes-Benz sports cars. The works of the specialist ranges from the 1954 to 1981 models of the brand.
One of the classic cars that they restored was the 1968 Mercedes-Benz 280 SL Pagoda we have featured late last year. The work included 2,000 hours of manual labor to make sure that every detail of the vehicle is retained.
The body, chassis, bumpers, interior and mechanical parts of the auto were removed. The parts that needed repair were fixed and the ones that were faulty were replaced with genuine parts from Mercedes. The result was a pristine-looking Pagoda, which was later sold to a customer in France.
The company recorded £5 million in sales and service revenues on a year-to-date basis. Some of their work will make their way to the Salon Prive event held at Blenheim palace.
Among the other plans of Hemmels are expansion of its service centers in California by the end of summer and collaboration with Ferrari in Monaco by the fourth quarter of this year.
