Ben and Tom Birchall won their second Sidecar TT of the week, and fifth in the last six Sidecar TT races going back to 2015. Pilot Ben and passenger Tom Birchall recorded a time of 58:40.090, averaging 115.760 mph over three laps around the Mountain Course.
John Holden and passenger Lee Cain took the lead through Glen Helen on the opening lap but the Birchall brothers soon took over. They completed their first lap with a 7.9-second lead over Tim Reeves and Mark Wilkes with Holden and Cain downgraded to third.
Holden and Cain returned to second place on the next lap but the Birchalls were by then well out in front. By the end of the second lap, the Birchalls were 20.2 seconds ahead. Holden and Cain were comfortably ensconced in second, a whole minute and 45 seconds ahead of Lewis Blackstone and Patrick Rosney.
With first and second out of reach, the battle for the final podium spot continued on the final lap. Conrad Harrison and Andrew Winkle overcame a 10.3 second deficit on the last lap to pass Blackstock and Rosney for third.
