The ABC Kite Fest is one of Austin’s best-known annual events. Held on the first Sunday of March, the festival kicks off springtime in Austin, which always offers fun, family-friendly events all spring long. Howdy Honda put together some information about the Zilker Park Kite Festival 2017.

Austin Kite Festival 2017
The 2017 Zilker Park Kite Festival will be held on March 5 from 10am – 5 pm in the lovely Zilker Park in Austin. The festival is free to attend, the contest is free to participate, and everyone is welcome–even pets! The Zilker Park Kite Festival is a popular event in Austin and the surrounding areas, as many people come out to see the awe-inspiring sight of all different kinds of kites in the sky. The Zilker Park Kite Festival has been an Austin tradition since 1952.
The second annual MossFest will also take place at Lou Neff point in Zilker Park starting at 10 am. The event features fun activities like moon walks and other inflatable attractions, a hair braid bar, cupcake decorating, a children’s art mural, face painting, and more. Some of the kids activities include a small charge of $2-$5. There is also a Doggie Den for your four-legged friends.
