Online listings are a common way for folks to sell smartphones, but it’s not often that you see unreleased, prototype devices in these listings. That’s precisely what appears to have happened with the Moto G5 Plus, though.
A listing for what may be a prototype Moto G5 Plus has appeared on Romanian site OLX. The seller has included several photos of the device as well as specs, and they’re asking 1,650 Romanian Leu, or $388 USD.
The photos show a Moto-branded device with a fingerprint reader below its display, a round rear camera housing with dual flash, and both a microUSB and a 3.5mm headphone jack on its bottom. The phone actually looks a bit similar to the alleged Moto X (2017) that leaked last month, so that device may have been a new G instead of a new X.
This Moto G5 Plus prototype is said to include a 5.5-inch 1920×1080 display, 13-megapixel rear and 5-megapixel front cameras, and Android 7.0 Nougat. Inside the device is a Snapdragon 625 processor, 4GB of RAM, 32GB of built-in storage, and a 3080mAh battery.
Many of this Moto G5 Plus specs are similar to the ones found in last year’s Moto G4 Plus, with a slight drop in camera resolution but an upgraded processor. It’s unclear Moto might officially introduce us to its new Moto G, but at least we’ve got several hands-on photos to keep us occupied until it does.
What do you think of this alleged Moto G5 Plus?
