Google’s offline search queue has you covered, even without data

Google has announced the ability to search offline on Android devices with a nifty offline search queue. The way it works is that if users don’t have an internet connection, they can still go ahead and type their search in the search bar. The Google app will automatically add it to a search queue and when a connection is detected, the app will perform the search in the background. Users will then receive a notification informing them that their search results are ready.

The update aims to alleviate issues with spotty networks or areas where coverage isn’t available, such as in tunnels or on planes. The search giant is also offering assurance that battery life won’t be affected and that data usage will be minimal. With those potential issues out of the way, it seems like offline search should be a handy tool for users.
